This is a beautifully reproduced, limited edition, hardcover book.
The entire set of negatives for this body of work was lost, seemingly for good sometime in 1990. They were found again surreptitiously during a move in 2004. In an ironic twist, the technical quality of the printing process today is dramatically beyond what was possible at the time, allowing Harry Bowers to create the resulting photographs with a quality that the artist could have only dreamed of back then.
The book: Harry Bowers "Lost and Found Project" comprises of 110 color images with text,128 pages in all. All of the images in this book can be seen on our web site: Lost and Found press clothing series 1978-1980 .
The pieces do not look like photographs; they look like the thing itself. Harry Bowers does not document reality; you cannot look through his photographs to see the world; they are not windows or mirrors; they are their own reality.
"I don't look for photographs. I invent them."... Harry Bowers
price of the book is $50.00 plus shipping and handling.
